hello parents and caregivers today we want to talk to you about something very important the fundamental role you play in your child education we know that having a child in special education program can raise many questions and we want you to feel supported and empowered throughout this educational Journey as a part of Buford City Schools we offer a series of videos specifically designed for you where we will explain the special education services available how to access them and most importantly tell you as parents can be the voice of your children because your knowledge will be key to navigating the educational system and supporting your children in the best way possible we know that being parents of children with special educational needs can be overwhelming the decisions and follow-ups can feel like a difficult task but remember as parents you have the incredible power the ability to advocate for your children's rights in these videos we will explain how the individualized education program the IEP process works how to collab collaborate with teachers and professionals to support your child's learning and how the decisions made today can have a significant impact on your child's educational future knowledge is power the more you know about the services and resources available the more prepared you will be to advocate for what your child needs and with each step you take you will be contributing to your your child's success not only in kindergarten but throughout their education we hope these videos serve as a guide for you you are not alone on this journey we are here to support you every step of the way thank you for being the voice of your children and for taking the initiative to learn about how to support their education together we can make a difference
