Welcome to the Buford Elementary School Media Center where we have a love for reading! We are so happy you are here. The mission of the library media program at Buford Elementary School is to provide a wide range of materials to both enhance the current curriculum and promote an interest in life-long learning and reading.

Hi and welcome to BES! I am Mrs. Rope, the Media Specialist for our school. I love being at Buford! I have a love for reading and technology. I like to incorporate that into fun lessons for students. I love seeing smiling faces come to check out books and enjoy reading in our space!

Media Center Information:

✔️Student Check-Outs:

Students may come to check out books on any school day during school hours. Our students are able to check out 2 books of choice.

📚 Book Fairs:
The Media Center sponsors two Book Fairs each school year. One fair is held in the fall and the other in the spring.

🎅Santa Shop:
The Media Center sponsors a Santa Shop in December for students to purchase gift items for family members.

📋Volunteers:
Our Buford Elementary School Media Center is always buzzing with students!  Students have the opportunity to check out books all throughout the day when their teachers allow.  With our media center being open all day and having students come multiple times during the day, we tend to accumulate a large number of books just waiting to be placed back on the shelves for their next reader.  We truly enjoy having volunteers come in to assist with re-shelving our books or assisting with tasks we might be working on.  We always need volunteers for our book fairs and Santa Shop.

📫Please email [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering in our media center.📫

Our Media Center is currently undergoing renovations, we are so excited about our transformation! Check out some of the progress, below!

Storyline Online is a free website in which students can visit to watch and have books read to them from various actors from the Screen Actors Guild (SAG).  A fun way to help keep our students excited about reading and their love of books. We also have BES students who in live in Hall County.  If this might be your family, be sure to visit your local Hall County Public Library and receive your FREE membership card in order to check out books from their branch.  You might even find a fun activity to attend on their website.
