BES 2019-2020 -- Speech Therapist
Hi there! This is my first year at Buford Elementary serving as the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). I have 25 years of experience as an SLP serving a wide range of students and clients ranging from preschool to adults. I absolutely love what I do! My love for this job is rooted in a desire to give back to the profession that gave me so much. As a child, I was diagnosed with an articulation disorder and received speech therapy in elementary and middle school. The care, respect, and love I felt from my therapist gave me confidence, provided me motivation, and a great sense of pride as I progressed and “graduated” from services. I knew from then on that becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist was my goal and I felt my experiences would benefit my students and their services. I take great pride in the difference an SLP can make in the lives and futures of children because I have lived it personally.
Away from school, I LOVE yoga and kayaking the lake with my husband, Ed. He and I share a dog, 2 cats, and 2 children, my daughter, Ansley (a junior at UGA) and his son, Drake (a senior at Georgia State).
